WSGA's 3rd annual Going APE event - now with Mega status - will be Sunday, Aug. 19. We had so much fun the past two years, we're gonna host Going APE every year alongside Groundspeak's Geocaching Block Party. Bonus: Groundspeak is creating a Souvenir for this Mega event!
So mark your calendars: The Pacific Northwest is now THE destination for geocaching on the third weekend in August – International Geocaching weekend.

What a great idea and we Germans who are visiting Seattle area from August 13 th until August 20th will be there. I have put up the event on out side ProjectA3XX Thanks so much and maybe we can arrange something more in the week before. Greets to WSGA |

Hi, yeah, we are looking forward to this trip very much. As far as I know we will be in Seattle right now 15 people. Not the 100 who said " Yes I come" last year, when the idea was born at the GCF in Cologne. Due to the prices and their families most of them stepped back from this idea. I hope to generate a few more, but this depends on time to come. I guess some of them will decide later in the year, in case they get flights arranged. |

I'm assuming "no" as well. Sorry! I'll ask them when the Souvenir is made (shortly before the event), but I expect that's what they'll say. My impression is that Groundspeak is creating Souvenirs for Mega events, and last year's APE was not a Mega when held; we only got that retroactively after an attendance count. Sounds like fun. I would like to volunteer for anything that needs to be done. I started geocachinfg as a snowbird in AZ and CA. I am back home now and don't know anyone in the area that geocaches. Think this would be a great way to meet fellow cachers

Our Going APE...at the Tunnel of Light mega event is only 10 days away!
We're expecting the largest turnout yet, and hope to see you there. Thanks to all our members who have volunteered to help!  And we have a special surprise: We've minted an APE event coin!
