WSGA has lots happening this year - our 10th anniversary! Here are a few things to look forward to:
  • Leap Year events on Feb. 29. Check the caching calendar for one in your area.
  • CITO events in the spring around Earth Day - and any other time a park would like one. CITOs are a key way we give back to the parks (city, county, state, federal) and thank them for supporting geocaching.
  • Summer picnics in several chapters (e.g., Puget Sound), some including Creative Cache Fairs.
  • Our 9th annual Summer Campout, hosted by the 48 North chapter on July 27-29 at the Masonic Park outside Granite Falls. The Mountain Loop Highway has a wealth of scenic caching opportunities (Big 4 Ice Caves, Monte Cristo, Mt Pilchuck, and more), and if you've never done Alnilam's contraption caches (Darrington), now's your chance. The event page and registration should be available by mid-March.
  • Our 3rd annual Going APE event - now with Mega status - on Sunday, Aug. 19, part of International Geocaching weekend along with the Groundspeak Block Party (where WSGA will again have a booth).
  • WSGA 10th anniversary events on the weekend of Sept. 8. The Puget Sound event, where it all started, will include as many of the 19 founding members as we can round up.
  • Chapter events throughout the year. Upcoming events include Inland Empire's 6th Annual Winter Party, Cache-cadia's Do the Cache-cadia Leap, Olympic Peninsula's Grays Harbor Meet-n-Greet, Southwest's March Madness Scavenger Hunt, and Puget Sound's St. Patrick's Day at the Museum of Flight.
  • Holiday parties around the state in December/January.

Our 2012 Washington coin should be out in March (special pricing for members), and we have 10th-anniversary swag coming up, as well. Stay tuned!

And be sure to "Like" the WSGA Facebook page - that's where we're now posting the latest news and updates on WSGA and geocaching in Washington.

Thanks for your ongoing membership and support of geocaching in Washington State. If you'd like to help with any of our activities, please contact me or your chapter rep - we welcome your participation.

Not all those who wander are lost.

Could you please help us get the word out.
We are having an event on July 14, 2012. It is called Captain Cache Geo Dash. www.captaincache.com
It is a Mega Adventure Geocaching Event

It begins on July 14, 2012 at 8:00 am and is a Themed Geocache Event in South Eastern Washington

This Geocache game is designed to bring friends and family together, learn the thrill of geocaching in a happy, healthy, outdoor environment and raise funds for charity and other causes.

A portion of the proceeds go to benefit the PMH Medical Center, the Ronald McDonald House, Chinese Children Adoption International and other charities and causes.

The Captain Cache Geo Dash Treasure Hunt starts at Billís Berry Farm, a great family destination in Grandview, Washington.

Play as an Individual or Team

Each cache will have one First Find Geocoin.

Each Geocache will have game pieces or clues to game pieces - collect to win the Grand Prize, other prizes and bragging rights.
