In the words of Brian's brother, Kevin Parkhurst: "Brian passed away this morning 7-20-10. He was loved by many. Brian was an organ donor and although none of his organs were in shape to donate, they will be donating his corneas to someone. Good job Brian.

Here is an address to send remembrances to and that would be my house at 10819 107th Pl NE Kirkland WA 98033. Thanks."

I'm so saddened by this news. sad.gif Brian was a great guy and huge asset to the geocaching community, most recently as an officer and webmaster for WSGA. I hope he's chasing a great 5/5 in the sky. Rest in peace, Brian, you will be missed.

One of my favorite memories: Brian with #1000 at Lord Hill on 9/16/06.

Brian did much to advance geocaching and he will be missed by many of us.

Such sad news. I had the opportunity to work with him for 2 years on the WSGA board. My thoughts go out to his family.

Brian's family just sent an email that said: "Please join us for a potluck Memorial for Brian Parkhurst on Wednesday, Aug 4th 5:30-8:30pm at St. Edward State Park in Kenmore." The email also said, "Please feel free to pass the word."

I wish I could be there, but I am traveling in California and won't be back in time.

Let me share a memory of Brian.

He organized a pancake breakfast at the Senior Center in Monroe with cachers adding to the general crowd that would be there. We overwhelmed the place. I doubt they have ever had that many folks for breakfast. He arranged to have a cache published just before the breakfast, but that reviewer missed the time so Moun10Bike took care of it during the breakfast and cell phones went off all over the room. I have been thinking of that day since Brian's passing and it so represents him in caring for others. The Senior Center raised quite a bit of money that day thanks to Brian's efforts.
