Random Caching Thoughts

To cache or not to cache, thats the question.

Heck thats no question. Its obvious! You cache you idiot!

That statement is my moto.

The feeling of going out to go caching is euphoric. Its the thrill of the hunt, the find, the sigining of a prestine log! Its all quite intoxicating!

The fun begins at the computer, searching for places with a bunch of caches. Sometimes I am looking for a specific cache and want to look for others in the area if I am making a lengthy drive. Then the Garmins are loaded and the cachemobile is burning rubber to the cache field. Hey, the sooner you are at your destination, the sooner the smileys can show up. Hey, you know you are a smiley junky! I am not the only one!

Let have a little fun here. How about some Jeff Foxworthyisms relating to our obession of Geocaching. I will start us off

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A GEOCACHER.......

when during the middle of your wedding ceremony, all you can think of are the caches near the hotel where you are going to stay for your honeymoon.

when the following sentance makes perfect sense to you, "The other day I had a CO-FTF with another cacher whos GPSr had sat reception issues due to the canopy and thus our geosense kicked in at the GZ until we got the smiley.

when you refer to your friends by names like FTFer, Cacheman and smiley junky instead of their real name.

when you are at a convention and you are thinking up of excuses the bolt so you can find that 3/2 cache two blocks away.

Ok theres some of mine, now you guys come up with some and add them to this post. Have fun!

Missing Person's Search

I'm posing this as a question or for any advice you may have, I have no planes on doing anything at this point but I wanted to put this out there. I've posted this already to the GeoCaching forums and it was suggested I post it here.

Background:
A local radio station did a story on a missing girl in my area and was asking for volunteers to come out and joining the search. The Police have ended there organized searches and now its being left up to the family to coordinate them. I spent this past weekend out there with about 12 others searching the woods and ATV trails. I had brought my GPS which was very useful when trying to describe the where we had gone and items we had marked. I was thinking to myself how sad it was only 12 people showed up and those who had could barley read a map, and were not very comfortable in the woods.

So the question I'm putting out there is how do I get GeoCachers involved in these searches and has anyone else done something like this in the past. We have a great community of people with a special skill set looking for things out of place.

Thanks for any advice you may have and if you have a search going on in your area please take the time to go out and help.

New Member saying Hi

Hi to everyone

I'm a newbie geocacher and a new WSGA member. I was wondering if there are any other motorcycling geocashers? Or should that be geocashing motorcyclists. Either way I would be happy to meet up with other riders to go geocaching. I live in Everett and work at the UW. As the evenings get lighter I plan to seek out out a few caches almost every day on my way home.

Let me know.

Bill

We are now known as AnnasBoyz instead due to changes in families, etc. We are also now based up in Cheney so I guess that makes us part of the Inland Empire Chapter? Just thought I would peek in and say hello to ya'll. We're getting back into caching pretty intensely now and are enjoying it. The new husband and I geocached on our honeymoon, of all things!
