WSGA Banners

As a reminder, please use the updated banners listed on this website (here) for the current links.

At least two recent events have the Green banner but when you hover over the link, it's still pointing to geocachingwa.org. Although the redirect should send people here anyway, it's just best to use the correct wording...especially with all the events coming up regarding GW8.

If you have a favorite banner you've got saved somewhere (slightly different color, border a little wider, etc.) all you have to do is edit the text so the link is http://www.wsgaonline.org instead of http://www.geocachingwa.org.

Chapter Web Sites

I see the chapters are listed, but I can't seem to find any links for chapter websites. I want to be able to promote them on my website by linking their badges like I did for COWWS and WSGA. Any chance there's a comprehensive list I may have missed? If there isn't; why not?

I see that elections are supposedly open, but unfortunately I only see one name...tolmaus for Secretary. The other 4 positions I'm elegible to vote for are blank.

I tried a couple different browsers with the same results on both.

I re-newed/joined 6/23/2009 and my pay pal was charged $12. When logging in it shows I'm good to 12/31/2009. I thought the dues were $12 per year, not $24. Could some one explain this please?

Display Name History

I can't figure out how to change my "Display Name". Under options I can view my Display Name History, but I can't find the help I need to change my name. I am a little dense sometimes, but it shouldn't be this difficult.

On the pay dues form, user information the selection for chapter does not include The North Olympic Peninisula Chapter. Once it does I'll be happy to renew.

Maccamob posted a request for a 2008 Puget Sound Geocoin in the Geocoins forum. My original response offering a 2009 is there but all the subsequent communications are not to be found. All were via WSGA how can I find them on the site.

I know I am really tired right now, so that may be the problem. How do I get to the WSGA store? I wanted to buy a CITO T-shirt and expected to find a link on the home page. Is it there and I am just not seeing it?

We have installed patches we have received from IPBoard to resolve some issues with Dropdown Menus for those using Microsofts new Internet Explorer 8.

If you experiance any additional issues with IE 8 and our software, please let us know so we can pass them on to the web developers.

A - Z for newbies

Being a "newbie" and not all that tech savy, maybe a right up front, top of the page forum or topic list explaining how to set up your "personal site" would be helpful. I know I've had troubles figuring out what my "avatar " setting is and what my "personal statement" is and how to set them up. Maybe a flat out tutorial is needed. Maybe one already exists and I can't find it? If it does, this is proof that I'm lost unless dropped into the woods blindfolded.

Suggestion for your consideration: an RSS feed of the WSGA forums.

I find the current process a little too "clicky":
1) go to site
2) click on "View New Posts"
3) For each subject, open a new tab for the thread. ~~If there are multiple pages, another click is required to go to the most recent message.~~ (Just saw the little enumeration next to the title.)

Links to events on the main page

I was looking around and noticed that the events on the main page were not links. Seems like it would be usefull to have those click thru to the pages for them.

GSAK Filters

I was looking for a Cougar Mountian GSAK filter and the only filter I could find is a Washington Counties filter. I had to go to the "OLD" sight to find the filter I needed. Any chance the filters could be moved over here to the new site?

Layout Of Main Page

I have noticed over the last two months a definite drop off in participation in the Cache of the Month. I suspect the reason is that, for most people, the link to the COTM is not visible on the main page without scrolling down. The link is even below the one for GSAK.

If the links can't be moved higher on the page, then perhaps some occasional announcement could be placed high on the page to remind people of the COTM program. Another possibility is a separate page for COTM activities with a link next to the forum link.

Ok, I am suffering a headcold and it may just be me, but I finally got around to renewing membership this evening and found it a little confusing.

The instructions could use a little editing. The instructions say that one can pay by Paypal or snail mail, although the Paypal reference is a bit oblique. I looked for about 15 minutes before I figured out that I had to log in before the Paypal link would show up. I almost resorted to snailmail ::gasp!::

Anyway, just my $0.02, or actually $12 since I did manage to figure it out

The site really looks good though! Thanks for all the work on it!

Member search by chapter

Hey, I would love to be able to get a list of Puget Sound WSGA members, but I don't see a way to search by chapter in the Member search and filter options in the Members area. Could that option be added? I see that as arguably more useful than what gender they are.

Or, am I overlooking an existing way to pull a list of my chapter members? Helps to know who they are without scrolling the entire directory. I've discovered the hard way that not everyone I know is an WSGA member (shame on them ).

I'm not sure why it shows my status as "membership lapsed" - I paid through 2009. Browsing through the members listing it appears that more than half bear that status.

Profile Icons

Does anyone know what all the Profile icons are? I figured the blue pawn next to my name means "male" (I think), but I don't know what the other ones mean, and I don't know what the GPS icons mean.

Love the new site!

And I apologize for being dense, but I can't find a few basic things:

- WSGA Officers / Board ? I looked under Members, I looked on the main page under Chapters ... where is it hiding? I'd vote for making the WSGA leadership easily findable.

- WA State Parks Guidelines? I was just looking for them, to check something and so I could link to them from a forum thread.

- Other reference info - board minutes, etc.

Again, perhaps I'm blind, a dolt, and/or don't understand the new user experience. Or perhaps things are still being moved over (understandable), but not sure where these things fit in the navigation or how to get to them.

Constant Log-ins

I am finding it necessary to re-login every 3rd page visit or so. And yes, cookies are enabled, and yes, I flushed the cookie cache and then logged in again (thus placing a new, fresh cookie).

Is anyone else having this issue, or am I specialer than the state tells me I am?

I assume the adding of friends isn't reciprocal? I've received email notifications that several have added me as friends (awww!) but my friend list is empty. In other words, adding someone to your list doesn't automatically put you in their list?
